Information: If you are ready for an after school
program with a purpose then join us at FitClix After School
Program. FitClix is a brand new high quality, nonprofit after
school program hosted by Core Possibilities and designed to help your
child be the best he can be physically and mentally.
How is FitClix
After School Program different? FitClix is focused on
providing all children an outcome that they can experience! Your
child will have the opportunity to be empowered as a learner, to
increase their fitness level, and to develop values and moral strength
all in a nurturing and safe environment. The FitClix approach
provides 60 minutes of physical activity per day paired with 60 minutes
of higher order thinking strategies, communication skills, and hands-on
problem solving. We will do that by forming a team in the U.S.
FIRST LEGO League. In this team building league, children are
immersed in real world science and technology challenges. Teams
research and design their own solution to a current scientific question
or problem and build autonomous LEGO robots that perform a series of
missions. Through their participation, children develop valuable
life skills and discover exciting career possibilities, while learning
that they can make a positive contribution to society. In
addition, students will have time to complete homework, have the
opportunity for extra help, and get a healthy snack.
What will my
child do? Not only will your child will have time to complete
their school homework and have a healthy snack, they will strengthen
their body and mind! They will set personal and fitness goals and
be given the tools to work towards those goals. During the U.S.
FIRST LEGO League challenge, teams work to find creative solutions to
the problems presented to them in the Challenge. The challenge is based
on a set of real-world problems facing scientists and engineers today.
They will design, build, and operate LEGO robots and then compete in
optional local and regional tournaments.

Ages:
Kindergarten through 8th grade welcome
Days: Monday-Fridays from after school until 5:30 at The Rivers Edge Retreat on Garden Valley Lane.
Locations: In Sumter at Core Possibilities & In Columbia at The Rivers Edge Retreat.
Program cost and Registration fee: (Sibling discounts available)
FitClix Columbia: $75 registration fee and $55 per week per child.
FitClix Sumter: $75 registration fee and $45 per week per child.
